Care for the pieces you reach for

Flow 7/8 Legging — detail view

The pieces you wear most deserve a little attention between outings. Looking after a garment begins with knowing what it needs, rather than applying the same routine to everything in your wardrobe. The sewn-in care label is the best starting point for each individual piece.

Read before you wash

Check the label for washing, drying and ironing instructions. Separate items when the label calls for it, empty pockets and close fastenings before placing garments in the machine. A quick check can also help you spot a loose thread or an item that needs a different kind of care.

Make room between wears

Unpack your studio bag when you get home. Let worn pieces air out instead of leaving them folded inside a closed bag. Keep clean clothing separate from anything waiting to be washed, and choose a place where the next step in your care routine is easy to remember.

Dry and store with attention

Follow the garment instructions for drying. Once a piece is ready to put away, choose a fold or hanger that suits its shape and the space you have. Keep the pieces you reach for often where you can see them, so the same few items do not disappear at the back of a drawer.

A wardrobe routine works best when it is simple enough to repeat.

Know what is already there

From time to time, take a look through your activewear drawer. Pair the tops and bottoms you already own, set aside anything that needs attention and make a note of genuine gaps. Caring for a wardrobe also means making use of it: returning to familiar pieces and finding new combinations before adding more.
