Terms of Service.

These Terms govern your use of the Atelier Themes website, account and direct theme-purchase services. Read them with our License Agreement, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy. They do not override applicable open-source licenses or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. Using the website

Use the website lawfully and only where you have authority to do so. To purchase, you must be at least 18 or the age of majority in your jurisdiction and have authority to enter the transaction, including where you act for a client or organization.

2. Platforms, products and previews

Shopify and WordPress themes are separate digital products. Review the platform label, editor, features, installation requirements and included files before purchasing. A Shopify theme cannot be installed as a WordPress theme, and a WordPress theme cannot be installed as a Shopify theme.

Live demos illustrate an example configuration and may use assets or services that are not part of the purchase. Motiv, Grocenest and Rove are available for purchase as downloadable WordPress themes. A clearly marked demo order or README download is for testing and does not represent a real sale. Ghost themes are available in the Ghost collection. Review each product’s version, installation requirements and license before purchase.

3. Prices, payment and delivery

The amount, currency and applicable charges shown at checkout apply to your purchase. Payment methods are limited to those actually offered at checkout; mentioning a payment service elsewhere does not make it available.

Paid digital files become available according to the successful order’s status, download permissions and the delivery details for that product. Your account shows authorized downloads, any remaining download limit and any expiry that applies. A purchase does not include design files, third-party apps, plugins or assets unless they are expressly listed as included.

4. Your account and information

Provide accurate account and billing information and keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact support@atelierthemes.com if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share account passwords or private download links publicly.

Account, order, contact-form and download information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We may request appropriate information to verify a support or data request without asking you to expose your password.

5. Licensing, updates and support

The License Agreement separates the Shopify commercial store license from GPL rights in WordPress code. For Margin, the Single Website commercial license includes 12 months of access to released updates and email support through contact@atelierthemes.com. Continued use of versions received is permitted afterward; renewal is optional, with no automatic recurring charge. The existing Shopify and WordPress offer includes lifetime theme updates for the lifetime of the purchased license and six months of complimentary priority support from purchase. Separately agreed service or agency plans follow their recorded terms.

A commercial support or update entitlement does not cancel rights granted by an included open-source license. Custom development, third-party charges and unsupported configurations are not automatically covered by complimentary theme support.

6. Acceptable use and ownership

• Do not attempt unauthorized access to another account, non-public download or system.
• Do not upload malicious code, interfere with normal operation or misuse the contact and checkout forms.
• Respect the licenses and copyright notices attached to code, designs, writing and assets.
• Do not misrepresent authorship or republish proprietary site material without permission or another lawful basis.

Atelier Themes and the relevant licensors retain rights in their work, subject to licenses granted to you. Your own content remains yours or its respective owner’s. These website-use terms do not prohibit activity expressly permitted by an applicable GPL or other open-source license.

7. Demos and third-party services

Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, hosting services, apps, plugins and linked demo sites have their own terms and policies. External links are provided for context and convenience. We do not guarantee the availability, content or behavior of services we do not operate.

8. Refunds and mandatory rights

Margin purchases have a 14-day refund promise, including downloaded or installed copies, under the Margin policy; we aim to initiate eligible voluntary refunds within five business days after confirming eligibility and locating the payment. The separate Shopify and WordPress 30-day technical-issue offer and its 5–10-business-day processing period are explained in the Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer remedies or rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

9. Availability and liability

The website and themes are provided subject to their stated specifications and applicable law. We cannot guarantee compatibility with every third-party integration, future platform change or custom modification, or uninterrupted availability. Keep backups before changing a live store or website.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Atelier Themes is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the website or a theme, including lost revenue or business interruption. Our total liability for a claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount paid for that theme, except where applicable law does not permit that limitation.

10. Changes and applicable rights

We may update these pages, with the revision date shown above. Terms recorded for an existing purchase and applicable mandatory rights are not automatically replaced by later marketing or policy changes. Open-source rights continue to be determined by the relevant license.

The rules that apply to a transaction can depend on the parties and jurisdiction. Nothing here excludes mandatory protections or remedies available in your jurisdiction. Contact the studio before purchasing if your organization needs business or transaction details.
